What is VMovee? Is It Safe? Is It Legit?

VMoviee is an online movie streaming site offering free movies ranging from Bollywood productions to major blockbusters. If you’re looking for a place to watch free movies online, you’ve likely come across it, either in Google search, on Reddit, or as a direct recommendation from a friend. If so, you’re likely wondering if it’s safe to use, if it’s legit, and if you can face legal repercussions for watching movies on the site. In this article, we reviewed VMovie to determine if it’s safe and legit, so you don’t have to.

What is VMovee?

VMovee is an online movie streaming site, typically sharing pirated films, but mixed in with indie and bollywood films as well as some copyright free movies. This can be confusing if you’re considering the legitimacy of the site, but with new releases that are not licensed, VMovee is definitely illicitly sharing content.

However, the site doesn’t actually upload any of the content themselves, instead, they scrape movies and films from other sources, embedding them with one or more server links for streaming. This means that if you are watching on the site, buffer and load times may be slow. It’s also how VMovee works to absolve themselves of responsibility for pirating films. By sharing content that someone else uploaded rather than that they uploaded themselves, they remove themselves from responsibility for the most persecuted element of film piracy, directly sharing.

While VMovee does not share legitimate or licensed films, you might not get in trouble for streaming, but you could. Current piracy law doesn’t really cover streaming as a crime, but laws are changing. For example, if streaming downloads packets onto your computer, you could be prosecuted for actual piracy. Similarly, VMovee offers download links for many of their films, which is directly piracy.

The good news is that you are unlikely to run into legal problems under current law. Most movie publishers are much more concerned with prosecuting uploaders. However, that isn’t a guarantee and you’re still putting yourself at risk.

Is VMovee Safe?

If you’re still considering using VMovee, there’s a lot more you should know about the site and its operating policies. For example, with auto-redirects and popup ads of dubious (at best) quality – VMovee is on the lower end of ‘safe’.

Auto-Redirects – Simply loading VMovee will kick off an auto-redirect, taking you to the site’s current web address. This can be harmful to your computer if VMovee chooses to redirect you elsewhere.

Popup Ads – VMovee uses popup ads to pay for the site and earn revenue – which can be fairly intrusive. Simply clicking on some links or buttons will result in ads popping up, not all of which are family friendly or safe. While most are gaming and casino related, some include sex-dating site ads and similar content, as well as ads for products like MacKeeper and some products that attempt to illicit a download action from you. You should skip this for the safety of your computer.

Final Opinion

VMovee is a lower quality piracy streaming site offering a large library of linked content with several sources and download links. It is illicit, quality is often subpar, and you will have to navigate through a variety of redirects and popup ads, not all of which are benign. Therefore, you can definitely find a better free movie streaming site if you want to stream (Even legit ones) or find another, safer source to stream your content.
