The BedJet v2 is the Awesome New Gadget You’ve Always Wanted

Most of us spend a great deal of time in our beds, with the longest spending around 12 hours a day, and the shortest spending around 4. Whatever amount of time you spend, chances are, it’s a good chunk of your life, so you want to be comfortable. In 2013, a company called BedJet came out with a heating and cooling device that warms and cools your sheets and then keeps you comfortable while you sleep. At $500, the device isn’t for everyone, but it’s certainly an interesting way to look at sleep function, and allows you to turn off the heat in other parts of your home while you sleep. Now, BedJet has a version two, which they successfully funded on KickStarter and are getting ready to launch in December of 2015 if production goes as planned. It has the same heating and cooling features of the original BedJet, but v2 has a few additional tricks up its sleeve.

What is the Bedjet V2

The V2 BedJet essentially combines heating and cooling climate control with biorhythms monitoring, which is uses to provide a customized heating and cooling experience. The BedJet starts off by bringing your sheets to a comfortable temperature, allowing you to instantly relax as soon as you get into bed. From there, it follows your body’s breathing and movement patterns, and adjusts the heat or cooling accordingly to ensure that you fall asleep as quickly as possible. It continues to do this throughout the night to help you sleep the entire night without waking up. When it’s time to wake up, the BedJet raises your body temperature to help you wake up, without an alarm. It accomplishes sleep rhythms using heat standards that help people fall asleep. For example, body temperature begins to cool down as you fall asleep, is coldest when you are in deep sleep, and begins to warm up before you wake up. By doing this artificially, the BedJet can help to create better sleeping patterns and rhythms. It also monitors your individual needs, and adjusts to the person on a nightly basis. The remote control app allows you to set manual temperatures, decide when you want to wake up, and set a variety of other functions.

Why You Want It

Heating and cooling at night is an unnecessary expense that many of us just can’t break out of, simply because it gets cold or too hot under the covers. The BedJet works around this by ensuring that you only have to heat your bed, which can save you from heating your entire house, if you don’t have a smart thermostat that allows you to heat one room at a time. Another consideration is that you also get the extra features like the built in alarm clock, biorhythm heating and cooling, and other features to help you sleep better and wake up feeling better. While it is expensive, it’s not going to cost you extra money on your energy bills unless you currently just sleep cold or hot, and if you heat your whole house at night, it could even save you money after a few years. Best of all, the BedJet is actually an existing product, with very good customer reviews, you won’t have to worry about the company underdelivering on their promises. Plus, hey, you know, warm sheets.
