Steam games, available at Steam Powered are playable on any computer providing you can log into your account. As a result, Steam is one of the most popular PC gaming platforms in the world, with more than 18.5 million active users. And, while Steam offers a wide range of mainstream titles from studios like Blizzard and Square Enix, the platform also caters to a much larger market with indie and low budget titles.  

With a combination of cheap to buy games and epic sales, there are plenty of 99 cent games on Steam. While not all of them are exactly the hot title everyone’s talking about, you can have plenty of low budget fun on both Windows and Mac computers.  

How to Find 99 Cent Steam Games

Steam offers an easy sort-by-price option for all games. For example, the site has over 16,000 games under $5.  With thousands of titles priced at 99 cents, and hundreds more frequently discounted to just 50 cents or less (commonly 49 cents), there’s a lot to play and do.

If you’re not sure what to buy first, you can always look at user reviews and sort Steam games by review. However, because 99 cent games change frequently, you may find that something available for 99 cents now won’t always be that price.

Other Ways to Get 99 Cent Steam Games 

Steam offers a lot of cheap games and their sales are often exceptional. Hitting the Steam sale section, especially during one of their semi-annual sales can net you $10 games for as little as 99 cents. However, discounts aren’t always that extreme.  

You can also check out Humble Bundle, which frequently offers packs of 10 or more games, with prices starting from just a few dollars. Best of all, the proceeds go to charity, and you can choose to pay what you want based on average payouts, to get a lot of games for a single bargain price.

What Are You Getting for 99 Cents?

If you buy a 99 cent Steam game, chances are you’re getting a short and fun game developed in an indie studio. This usually means 30-90 minutes of gameplay but sometimes up to 10. You’ll get minimal graphics, simpler gameplay and a stripped-down interface. This isn’t for everyone. But for 99 cents, you’ll likely get a fun game that’s a lot reminiscent of arcade, and 80s and 90s games for PC and game platforms but with better graphics.
