Best Cheap Wireless Earbuds

Wireless earbuds are hugely popular because they are great for sports, cycling, walking, or just unobtrusively listening to your favorite music. Going cord-free means not having to worry about cords catching on anything, being too short, getting in the way, or even jerking your earbuds out of your ears. Some wireless earbuds also come with built-in microphones, making them useful as smartphone headsets.

Unfortunately, many wireless earbuds are expensive, with prices often ranging from $120 to $200 or more. While earbuds at that price point are sometimes very high quality, so many times the price is simply inflated because the brand has good advertising.

Before I dropped hundreds of dollars on costly Apple AirPods, or something similar, I wanted to do a little research on the best cheap options that would fit my budget. This list covers what I found.

Top 10 Best Cheap Wireless Earbuds

The following ten cheap wireless earbuds are chosen for having the best quality, performance, and reliability. Aside from being cheap, these are some of the best wireless earbuds on the market in 2020.

1. MPOW Flame Bluetooth Waterproof Earbuds

MPOW Flame Wireless Earbuds

For me, MPOW Flame waterproof earbuds are the best cheap wireless earbuds on the market in 2021. For the price, they even rival Airpods. They are a fantastic choice if you’re primarily going to wear your wireless earbuds at the gym. They’re covered with a water-resistant nano-coating that makes them waterproof and sweatproof, so they will withstand even your toughest fitness regime!

If you’re used to listening to tinny sounding audio when you’re at the gym, you’ll be pleased to hear strong bass and mid from this model thanks to a tuned driver and CSR chip. The sound is rich, crisp, and unexpected from a product that is so small.

This is also due in part to the fact that there are four different sizes of ear tips, including one set made of memory foam for those with sensitive ears. Not only does this design mean that they will stay in your ears, but they are also so comfortable you’ll hardly know that they’re there. The soft ear hooks will also ensure that you don’t lose them during your workout.

One of the best aspects of these wireless earphones is their ability to quickly charge. It takes less than 90 minutes to get a full charge, and you will have 7-9 hours of battery life! You won’t have to wonder how much power is left, as it will show on the screen of the device that they are paired with.

Speaking of pairing, these are wireless up to 33 feet. You won’t need to use your hands at all, as the earphones operate based on your voice commands, even pairing with Apple’s Siri.

The built-in microphone and integrated hands-free call & audio control also makes the MPOW Flame an excellent choice for the business traveler or those who live a busy lifestyle.

  • IPX7 Waterproof and sweatproof
  • Rich, crisp sound and strong bass
  • Includes four different sized ear tips for best fit, including one made of memory foam
  • 90-minute quick-charge for 7-9 hours of battery life

  • Customer service representatives are lackluster

2. LETSCOM Earbuds

Letscom Wireless Earbuds

A great sporty wireless headset, LETSCOM’s Bluetooth wireless earbuds will power you through your workout or keep you entertained during your next flight.

These not only have noise-canceling technology but an 11mm vibrating diaphragm and a CSR chip. This means the bass is strong and the sound is clear, loud and unlike anything you’d expect from a pair of in-ear earbuds.

If you’re looking for a comfortable design, the soft silicone over-ear arm is so ergonomic and lightweight you might forget that you’re wearing earphones! Additionally, users can choose from three sizes of gel ear tips that easily slide in and out of your ears but won’t slide out during your tough workouts.

For the consummate traveler or business professional, these are compatible with the voice control features on your smartphone. The built-in microphone makes it easy to answer and make calls or complete other tasks. To change tracks or adjust the volume, you can simply use the controls right on the earphones.

With a built-in polymer lithium battery, you don’t have to worry about your wireless earbuds dying on a long flight or call. They are fully charged in less than two hours, and that will give you eight full hours of playtime!

However, if you’re worried about battery life, you’ll know when these wireless buds are running low. Not only does the percentage remaining show on the device you’re using, but the earbuds will also emit a warning sound when the battery life gets below a certain amount.

  • Comes in a variety of fun color combinations
  • Full control of music and calls on the earpiece
  • IPX7 waterproof and sweatproof design
  • 8-hour battery life
  • Built-in microphone
  • Comes with carrying case and additional sizes of ear tips

  • A loud warning message is repeated when power is low

3. TOZO T10 True Wireless Earbuds

Tozo T10 True Wireless Earbuds

TOZO T10’s are true wireless earbuds; they’re not even connected to each other! TOZO uses the latest technology to bring you top-notch sound and wireless capabilities. Whether you’re going for a long run, a swim in the ocean, or you are just on the phone a lot, these are a great choice.

Unlike other headphones that claim to be waterproof and sweatproof, the TOZO T10 design features IPX8 technology, so they will work for up to 30 minutes when submerged 1 foot deep in water. You can wear these in the pouring rain, or you can even wash them down with soap and water and not worry about the impact it will have on sound quality.

Speaking of sound, these stereo true wireless earbuds offer the best hi-fi stereo sound quality on this list, and it is comparable to much larger and much more expensive stereo systems. The sound is natural, crisp and clear with full bass and treble. This is partly due to the fact that their speaker is much larger than those of other pairs of headphones, which is great for bass.

With Bluetooth 5.0 technology, the same high-quality speaker sound you hear when music plays is the same quality you get on your calls. Speaking of Bluetooth, these true wireless headphones connect easily and are compatible with all phones, tablets and even smart technology found in cars.

We love the ability to wirelessly recharge them in their carrying case. The charging case itself can also be charged with wireless technology.

  • True wireless earphones
  • IPX8 Waterproof and sweatproof
  • Carrying case fully charges 2-3 times
  • Compatible with wireless charging
  • Easily pair with other devices

  • Customer service isn’t very responsive to issues

4. Pasonomi True Wireless Earbuds

Pasonomi Bluetooth Earbuds

For the fitness fanatic who wants to go hands-free, Pasonomi’s truly wireless bluetooth earbuds are a wonderful option!

These are a great choice if you often forget to pack your device’s charger. The high-powered, larger capacity charging case will fully charge these true wireless earbuds 18 times! The charging case can also fully charge your device at least twice. Plus, it only takes an hour for the battery life to be back to full strength, which is great if you forget to recharge.

You’ll get crisp, high-quality stereo sound with the Bluetooth 5.0 technology, loud enough to withstand a noisy plane ride or a windy run. Plus, these have the extra benefit of one-step pairing. Simply take one earbud out of the case and it will immediately connect with the other. Within just a second, they’ll be connected to your phone without even doing anything.

I found these to be a comfortable fit for my ears and there’s no need to worry about one headphone popping out of your ear during an intense work-out or run. They are resistant to sweat and water and rain, so you won’t see reduced sound quality if they get a little wet.

Pasonomi’s true wireless headphones are also covered by a limited one-year warranty. If you have any issues, the company will happily fix them or provide a replacement.

  • One-step pairing
  • Wireless charging in carrying case
  • High-quality stereo sound
  • Water-resistant and sweatproof

  • Only 3-4 hours of battery life (versus more than 5 hours with other models)

5. FOCUSPOWER F10 Mini Airbud

FocusPower F10

These extra small headphones are so tiny, most people won’t even notice that you have them in! That means they are a great fit if you work in a professional environment where listening to music might be frowned upon. You can still get your entertainment, but no one will know you’re listening to music but you! They are smaller than a dime, and comfortable too!

If you’ve ever wanted to connect your headphones to two devices at once, look no further. This product give you that ability. This is the perfect design for a business professional who is constantly jumping between calls on their personal and work phones.

The battery life is generally long lasting, giving you about 6 hours of audio playback and about 4-5 hours of call time. However, note that eventually they can lose their ability to hold a charge and battery life might plummet.

This might be due in part to the fact that they are not charged with a traditional wired charger. Instead, they use magnetic inductive charging, so there’s no need for a port or for any extra cords.

The earbuds pair easily and remain connected up to 33 feet away. Once you’ve paired them once, they will automatically connect when the device is near.

They’re also backed by a 45 day money-back guarantee and an 18 month worry-free guarantee, so you’re covered if anything happens!

  • Able to connect to two devices at once
  • Smallest earbuds out on the market
  • Long-lasting and uses inductive magnet charging
  • No cables, no cords, no charging case

  • Has a short life-span
  • Battery life quickly declines rapidly after extended use

6. ECandy G6

ECandy G6 Wireless Earbuds

These Bluetooth earbuds may sound like a copy of Skull Candy’s, but they are something to consider all on their own. The ECandy wireless headphones are usually only available on Amazon, come in four colors, and have a headphone counterpart. They feature Bluetooth 4.0, small ear hooks, a built-in microphone with noise reduction, 4-9 hours of talk/play and 160 hours of standby time. While not perfect, they are about as good as you will get for the price, with strong bass, and decent polarity & sound.

7. Soundpeats Qy7

Soundpeats Earbuds

The Soundpeats QY7 has an MSRP of $39.99, but if you shop around, you can usually save even more off of that. They come in 8 colors, feature a microphone, up to 8 hours of talk or play, and 145 hours of standby battery life. They’re also sweat resistant and have a button for skipping tracks, making them ideal for exercise. Personally, I like the styling of these best, but they did not fit as good.

8. JAM Transit

JAM Transit mini buds

JAM sells two versions of the JAM Transit, including the normal and the micro (read our review of JAM Transit mini buds). The micro version sells for $79.99, but the normal pair of wireless earbuds sell for $50, which will fit almost any budget. While only available in three colors, there are both music and speakerphone modes. The JAM Transit has a microphone, controls for accepting calls, playing audio, or pausing it, and a 30-foot wireless range.

While they don’t have the best bass, they do work well for casually listening and taking calls, without the hassle of a wired headset. We have also tested their wireless range to be higher than claimed, at over 40 feet.

9. Jabees BSPORT

Wireless Jabees

Jabees BSPORT is a unique Bluetooth earbud with a fairly large earpiece and an ear hook, which is ideal for sports like cycling, or anywhere where you want lightness but not total noise canceling. They are also water resistant and sweat proof, so you can go running or cycling in the rain, and you can drop your earbuds in water without them dying. While you can’t go swimming, you can take them almost anywhere else.

A built-in dual microphone, support for voice prompts, and internal volume control allows you to use the wireless headphones for almost anything. They also connect via NFC, for those who prefer it. These are the best cheap true wireless earbuds for cyclists or anyone that requires lightness and maintaining situational awareness.

10. Jarv NMotion

Jarv NMotion

The Jarv NMotion earbuds feature a built-in microphone as well as controls for playing audio, accepting calls, and volume control. Wireless sound isolating buds help with sound quality. Our only complaint was that the bass is very low.

A 6-hour battery life, with a very short charging time, makes these a convenient option for taking to work or commuting.

What Should I Look For When Buying a Pair of Wireless Earbuds?

First, look at the sound quality of the headphones you’re purchasing. You do not have to sacrifice good sound quality to find cheap earbuds. Wireless earbuds with aptX technology will sound best and most like Airpods.

Then, think about their size and form and how comfortable they’ll be in your ear. For example, do you want earbuds, over-the-ear speakers, or on-ear speakers? Choose based on your comfort, not style.

Battery life is hugely important, so you will want headphones that will hold their power for hours or even days.

Finally, consider how they are controlled and paired with whatever device you use. You will want a pair of earbuds that will instantly link up with your device after the first pairing so that you don’t have to jump through hoops each time you wear them.

If you don’t like any of the options on this list, you can look for affordable earbuds from other brands. For example, Photive, RevJam, Stoon, Matone, Anker Soundbuds, and many other high-end manufacturers of wireless earbuds often go on sale on Amazon, where you can sometimes find truly wireless options as cheap as $100 (and occasionally under $50). Just be careful to avoid knock-offs and copies that are not even worth this price.

What Features Are Important?

  • Sweatproof or waterproof earbuds are best for working out
  • An over-ear design, with a microphone, is best if you make lots of calls
  • Ability to pair with devices without first connecting to them
  • In-ear models with noise cancellation technology are best if you travel often
